I’m having trouble deciding which flowers to give.

You may also be unsure whether to choose a bouquet, an arrangement, or a potted plant.

One advantage of an arrangement is that it contains an oasis (a sponge for cut flowers) filled with water, so it can be displayed even without a vase.

However, if it’s an arrangement, you’ll need to carry it with both hands when taking it home from events like farewell parties, so a bouquet might be a safer option. If there is no after-party and the recipient is leaving by car right away, an arrangement should be fine.

When visiting someone in the hospital, giving potted plants is strictly forbidden. Giving a potted plant implies that the person’s hospital stay will be prolonged, so we recommend an arrangement at our store.

When offering flowers to someone who has passed away, if it’s just after their death, we recommend a pillow flower (an arrangement) because the family may not have a vase available.

If you are visiting the family one month or six months after the death, it’s likely that they already have a vase, so a wrapped bouquet for Buddhist use would be appropriate.

The typical lifespan of arrangements and bouquets is about one week to 10 days. If you’d like the recipient to enjoy the flowers for longer, a potted plant might be a better choice.

We offer various potted plants, including moth orchids, to suit your budget and occasion. Please feel free to visit our store or contact us for more information.

Regarding moth orchids, we provide detailed information in our blog article “Introducing Moth Orchids by Price Range,” so please take a look if you’re interested.

Can I specify the flowers I want to be included?

Yes, it is possible.

However, there are flowers that can and cannot be obtained depending on the season.

For example, sunflowers are in circulation from mid-May to late September, so we can accommodate requests like “I want sunflowers included” during this period.

On the other hand, we cannot accommodate requests for sunflowers in the middle of winter, as they are not produced by the growers at that time.

In general, growers produce and ship flowers a few months earlier than when they bloom on the streets. For example, cherry blossoms, which bloom in late March to April on the streets, are in circulation as cut flowers from late January. In this way, cut flowers are in circulation a few months earlier than when they bloom on the streets, so it may be possible to include the desired flowers depending on the timing.

Is it possible to have the arrangement made to look like a photo from Instagram, books, or magazines?

Yes, it is possible.

However, there are flowers that can and cannot be obtained depending on the season. We can create a similar atmosphere, but we cannot make everything, including the flowers, number of flowers, size, direction of the flowers, and color of the wrapping, exactly the same (unlike industrial products, even the same flowers have different shapes. This is also the reason why the encounter with flowers is called “once in a lifetime”).

For example, suppose you have a request to make an arrangement like a photo of a bouquet with light pink peonies available in June. If it’s the same season, similar-colored peonies can be included, but peonies cannot be obtained in other seasons. In such cases, we will use alternative flowers, such as similar-colored Larkspur, to create a finished product close to the desired item and color.

The same applies to sunflowers, which are not available in winter. As an alternative to a bouquet with sunflowers, there are large yellow Gerbera daisies. In this way, we can create an arrangement with a similar atmosphere to the photos from Instagram, books, or magazines using alternative flowers, so please rest assured.

I would like to order two or more of the same product, but is it possible to have them made with a different atmosphere?

Yes, it is possible.

Just changing the color scheme can make a big difference in the atmosphere. We can also create it with different floral materials, so please be assured.

We can also change the wrapping to your desired color scheme, so please let us know if you have any requests.

Can I specify the color of the wrapping?

Yes, it is possible.

Our staff also wraps in an appropriate color scheme depending on the occasion and situation, but if you have a preferred color, we also accept color specifications.

Please let us know when placing your order.

By when should I make a reservation?

For regular bouquets and arrangements when you visit our store, the same day is fine. We always have a selection of high-quality floral materials, so please be assured.

In case of rush orders, please allow at least 15 minutes for both arrangements and bouquets.

For specified materials and quantities like 100 red roses or 100 sunflowers, please make a reservation at least 5 days in advance so that we can inquire about the production area and arrange for procurement.

During peak times like Obon, Higan, and Mother’s Day, orders can become overwhelming. In some cases, the desired floral materials may be sold out, so the earlier you make a reservation for these peak times, the better (we accept reservations from one week to one month in advance).

During Obon, Higan, and graduation season, there is a nationwide peak time, and flowers become scarce in the market and production areas.

Although we secure a considerable amount, there may be shortages due to inclement weather. We prioritize customers who have made reservations for peak times, so we kindly ask you to make reservations in advance.

Is it possible to deliver flowers nationwide in Japan?

Yes, it is possible.

We will deliver our own products as much as possible.

One of our features is that we visit producers nationwide irregularly while collaborating with the market. We are committed to the quality and the people who make the products, aiming to create products that satisfy our customers.

Regarding “stand flowers” for funerals and celebration flowers, due to the fact that they cannot be shipped with Yamato Transport, we may ask affiliated florists near the delivery destination to handle the order. Please understand this point.

Japan has a unique characteristic of being long from north to south. From the perspective of the flowers’ shelf life, we can ship to locations up to a distance that takes two days to deliver.

In extreme cases, if you request to send flowers to the Ogasawara Islands, it will take about six days to arrive. In that case, we cannot guarantee the quality of the product and must decline the request.

For more information on the number of days it takes to ship from our store to other prefectures, please see our blog article titled “Regarding the Number of Days for Shipping from Our Store to Other Prefectures” .

Can I specify the delivery date and time?

For deliveries within all areas of Koriyama City, as well as some areas in Motomiya City and Sukagawa City, we provide our own delivery service. Specifying the delivery date is, of course, possible.

Normally, we can accommodate specified delivery times within our business hours. However, for special busy days such as August 12th before Obon, it may not be possible to specify a delivery time. In such cases, we will handle your request with a rough time frame, such as morning or afternoon.

For long-distance shipping, we use Yamato Transport’s Takkyubin service. Delivery on the specified date is also possible, of course.

Delivery times can be specified as one of the following: ①Morning ②14:00-16:00 ③16:00-18:00 ④18:00-20:00 ⑤19:00-21:00.

When using Yamato Transport, the image is that we ship the day before and the package arrives the next day. For information on the number of days it takes to ship from our store to other prefectures, please see our blog article titled “Regarding the Number of Days for Shipping from Our Store to Other Prefectures” .

The range of delivery in one day extends from Aomori Prefecture in the north to Hyogo Prefecture in the south.

Can I get a photo of the purchased product?

Yes, it is possible.

Not only bouquets and arrangements but also for celebration and funeral stand flowers, we can take photos at the location where they are set up and send them to the customer who made the purchase. If you would like this, please let us know when you place your order.

We can send the photo by email, mail, or hand it to you when you visit our store. If you would like the photo by email or mail, please provide us with your email address or home address.

As sending an image attachment is part of our service, there is no additional charge for customers.

How long do the flowers last?

The shelf life of flowers varies by type, but generally, it is determined by the “temperature x time” after the cut flowers are harvested.

The reason why flowers last differently in summer and winter is that the accumulated value of “temperature x time” is different. Naturally, the shelf life will change significantly depending on whether the temperature is consistently above 30°C or below 5°C in the middle of winter (however, if flowers are exposed to temperatures below 0°C, they will freeze).

Based on experience, if there are consecutive hot days with temperatures exceeding 30°C, the flowers will last about 5 days. In the middle of winter, the shelf life is approximately 10 days to 2 weeks. Of course, the shelf life varies depending on the type of flowers and the producer, but the above is a general guideline for “Western flowers.”

The difference between producers can be significant, and the shelf life may vary more than twice as much for the same flower depending on the producer. Our blog article “(Q&A) How long do flowers last?” provides more details, so please feel free to take a look.

Can you deliver flowers for a graduation ceremony to the school for each student?

Yes, it is possible.

We can deliver the flowers separated by class and at the specified time.

Teachers may arrive at school early in the morning for the graduation ceremony, but please be assured that we can also deliver the flowers early in the morning.

Every year, we deliver flowers to kindergartens, nurseries, elementary, junior high, and high schools in Koriyama City. We can handle bouquets for hundreds of students, so please don’t worry.

In March, graduation ceremonies take place nationwide, and other events such as the equinoctial week, job transfers, retirements, and farewell ceremonies overlap, causing a significant shortage of flower supply. Since flowers may be unavailable at the market and production areas, we kindly ask for pre-orders for graduation bouquets to be placed at least two weeks in advance.

What kind of flowers are suitable for a store opening celebration?

We have compiled a list of flowers to give as gifts for store openings, business inaugurations, and clinic inaugurations, sorted by budget, in our blog article “(FAQ) What kind of flowers are suitable for a store opening celebration?“.

We have summarized five patterns for budgets of 5,000 yen, 10,000 yen, 15,000 yen, 20,000 yen, and over 50,000 yen, so please take a look at the article if you are interested.

Can you deliver flowers to a funeral home?

Yes, it is possible. We can deliver to all funeral homes in Koriyama City, Motomiya City, and Sukagawa City.

Some funeral homes may specify that only a pillow flower and a single-tier fresh flower arrangement are allowed, so please let us know the name of the funeral home and your family name. As for the delivery time, we will inquire with the funeral home and deliver the flowers at the time specified by the funeral home.

For larger quantities, such as cases with more than four fresh flowers, we can deliver not only to Koriyama City, Motomiya City, and Sukagawa City but also to the entire prefecture, so please be assured.

Regarding stand flowers, we have described the types of stand flowers and the name tags in our blog article “Ordering Process for Funeral Fresh Flowers.” If you’d like, please take a look at that as well.

Can I change the price of a single-tier stand flower to 20,000 yen?

Yes, it is possible.

The single-tier stand flower is usually priced at 16,500 yen, including tax, but we can change the price to 20,000 yen or 25,000 yen, depending on your budget.

We adjust the difference in price by changing the type and number of flowers used. While the standard single-tier stand flower already has enough flowers and volume, we can make it even more luxurious and glamorous, so please be assured.

Of course, we can accommodate changes in price for both celebration stand flowers and funeral stand flowers.

Can you deliver flowers to a temple for a memorial service?

Yes, it is possible.

We can deliver not only to temples in Koriyama City but also to neighboring municipalities, so please be assured. We will deliver the flowers in the evening of the day before or with enough time before the start of the event on the day itself.

How much should I prepare for flowers for a memorial service, such as the first anniversary of a death?

The volume and types of flowers used will vary depending on your budget, but the typical price range for flower arrangements chosen by most customers is as follows:

(Temple Flower Bouquets) For flower bouquets to be offered at the temple, it is preferable to have a certain amount of volume, as the vases at the temple are usually large. Depending on the temple, it would be helpful to confirm before ordering whether only one vase is needed for the main hall or if two are required.

The flower bouquets for the temple are generally 2,500 yen to 3,000 yen (excluding tax) per piece, and 5,000 yen to 6,000 yen (excluding tax) for two. Of course, we can also accommodate prices of 5,000 yen to 10,000 yen (excluding tax) per piece according to your budget, but on the other hand, 1,000 yen to 1,500 yen (excluding tax) for the main hall may be too little. The reason is that the vases for the main hall are quite large, and a few flowers may look sparse.

(Home Flower Bouquets) Again, depending on your budget, the typical price range chosen by most customers for a vase flower bouquet is about 2,000 yen to 3,000 yen (excluding tax) per piece.

Many customers also prefer to have arrangements instead of vase flower bouquets for home use. In the case of arrangements, there is the advantage of not needing to prepare a new vase. The price is generally 5,000 yen to 10,000 yen (excluding tax) per piece.

(Grave Flower Bouquets) We always have flower bouquets for graves available starting from 550 yen (including tax) at our shop, but for memorial services such as the first anniversary of a death, it is preferable to have a certain amount of volume.

The price range chosen by most customers is 1,500 yen to 2,000 yen (excluding tax) per piece, and 3,000 yen to 4,000 yen (excluding tax) for two. Of course, we can also accommodate prices of 2,500 yen to 5,000 yen (excluding tax) per piece or even higher according to your budget, so please be assured.

Can you make offering flowers with Western flowers (without white chrysanthemums)?

Yes, it is possible.

Recently, it has become more common to include flowers that the deceased person liked. While it is common to use large white chrysanthemums for altar, grave, and funeral stand flowers, we can also create arrangements with the deceased’s favorite flowers or Western flowers, so please be assured.

However, since Western flowers often have less leaf volume, the same number of flowers may look less voluminous compared to arrangements with white chrysanthemums. In that case, we will devise a combination of flowers and foliage, such as incorporating spray chrysanthemums or disbuds (see the example below), to create both volume and a festive appearance.

We can also create offering flowers in the colors that the deceased person liked, such as “they liked yellow” or “they liked red,” so please be assured.

Can I use a credit card?

You can use a credit card at our store. For supported cards, please refer to the “Order Process” section on our website.

Unfortunately, we do not accept credit cards on our website, but we do have a bank account available for transfers.

For customers from far away, we can accommodate bank transfers when placing orders through the “Inquiry” form, fax, or phone.

Please provide the bank account for transfers.

We have a Japan Post Bank account prepared. You can find the Japan Post Bank account number here.

Please note that the transfer fees will be the customer’s responsibility.

Do you handle preserved flowers?

We generally do not handle preserved flowers or preserved arrangements that customers typically envision. However, we do handle some special florist materials, such as beech leaves treated for preservation, known as “Fargus.”

What kind of flowers go into a bouquet for a farewell party?

In bouquets given at farewell parties , we include flowers with vivid colors. For example, red roses and gloriosa. Also, since we value volume, we also include flowers such as Oriental lilies, dianthus, and alstroemeria.

Of course, the flowers and the number of flowers to be included will change according to your budget, but our goal is to make them bright, glamorous, and voluminous.

We also respond to customer requests such as “I want to include these flowers.” If there are any flowers you want to include, please feel free to let us know.

How much does it cost to make an arrangement (flower basket)?

At Flower Shop Alice, we can create arrangements from 3,300 yen (tax included). Depending on your budget, we can also create arrangements for 5,500 yen or 11,000 yen (tax included).

We understand that you may have a budget, so please feel free to discuss it with us.

How much does delivery cost?

For all areas within Koriyama City and some parts of Motomiya City and Sukagawa City, we provide our own delivery service by our company staff for purchases of 3,300 yen or more. The shipping fee for this service is free.

If you order a large number of items such as stand flowers (for example, four or more stand flowers), we can deliver and provide services not only within Koriyama City, Motomiya City, and Sukagawa City but also to all cities and towns within Fukushima Prefecture.

Please feel free to contact us by phone or through our inquiry form for adjustments of delivery date and time.

If sending to other prefectures, we will ship via Yamato Transport.

Do you have Phalaenopsis orchids?

Yes, we always have a wide variety of Phalaenopsis orchids in various price ranges, varieties, and colors.

We have white Phalaenopsis orchids, which customers typically envision as Phalaenopsis orchids, as well as smaller varieties known as midi types.

We can also provide a blue Phalaenopsis orchid called “Blue Elegance,” which is dyed using a special method, available for reservation. Please feel free to contact us for inquiries.

For more detailed information about prices and types, please see our blog article titled “Introduction to Phalaenopsis Orchids (By Price Range).”

What is a flower with a good “language of flowers”?

That’s quite a difficult question. The reason is that the same flower can have a variety of meanings in the “language of flowers”, and these interpretations can vary depending on region and culture. The “language of flowers” originated in England from the 18th to the 19th centuries, and its interpretation is very personal.

That being said, we believe it’s important to focus on choosing flowers as gifts based on the recipient’s preferences and personality traits rather than the “language of flowers”. By not being bound by the language of flowers and choosing a flower that matches the recipient’s preferred color or atmosphere, your gift will be more memorable.

When choosing flowers, we recommend focusing more on color psychology than the “language of flowers”. By selecting flowers with colors that feel comfortable to the recipient, your gift will become even more special.

For more details, please check our blog post “Beyond the Language of Flowers ~ The Importance of Choosing Colors that Resonate with the Heart ~“.
